Courses At Bill Quay Farm, Gateshead

East Durham College now offer a range of exciting courses at Bill Quay Farm, Gateshead.

East Durham College is delighted to have teamed up with Bill Quay Farm to offer a range of exciting courses at the community farm based in Gateshead.

There are a range of full time courses on offer covering horticulture, agriculture, animal care and countryside skills.

The courses on offer include:

  • Diploma in Animal Care Level 1
  • Diploma in Animal Care Level 2
  • Diploma in Work-based Environmental
  • Conservation Level 2
  • Diploma in Land-based Operations Level 1
  • Entry Level 2/3 Programmes

Ian Hall, Assistant Programme Leader in Animal Studies at East Durham College is excited by the partnership and believes it can highlight the courses taught at Houghall and bring a unique learner experience to the Newcastle and Gateshead area.

Ian said: “This is a really exciting new venture for the College and Bill Quay Farm. 

“We believe the partnership will help us showcase the outstanding work we do with learners at Houghall and bring a whole range of exciting courses to an inner city area of the north east.

Craig Bankhead, Chief Executive at Bill Quay Farm, added: “We're really excited to be working in partnership with East Durham College. We believe that our facilities and livestock provide a fantastic opportunity for students undertaking the new animal care courses.”
