College Financial Bursary Scheme

This fund aims to provide financial support to help you with the cost of your course.

Guaranteed Bursary (16 to 18* year old students only)

The guaranteed 16-18 bursary of £1,200 a year (paid weekly or pro-rata) is paid according to the duration of the course a student is enrolled on.

The bursary is available to assist with the costs of travel, meals, books and other associated course costs. To be eligible, enrolled students MUST be aged 16 to 18 on or before 31st August (or *16 to 24 if they have an Education, Health and Care Plan) AND be assessed as being in one of the following defined vulnerable groups:

  • A young person in care, or
  • A care leaver, or
  • A young person in receipt of Income Support or Universal Credit, or
  • A young person in receipt of Employment Support Allowance (ESA) and Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or in receipt of ESA and a PIP (Personal Independence payment)
