East Durham College is committed to the value and promotion of equality and diversity within our organisation. We recognise the strengths of differences between individuals and consider ourselves to be pro-active in eliminating discrimination and promoting respect and dignity for all.

East Durham College expects commitment from the college community as a whole to strive to provide a positive working and learning environment for all.

Purpose of the Report

To keep all informed of Learner Achievement and Staff Recruitment for 2012/13, and to comply with The Equality Act 2010 and its “general duty”,  which is effective from 2012 and requires public bodies:

  • To eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment  and victimisation
  • To support and create opportunities and encourage equality between people who do not share a protected characteristic
  • To encourage and develop good relations between people who have or do not share a protected characteristic.
