About The College

East Durham College operates across three campuses, as well as providing work force development within individual workplaces across the region.

In Peterlee, the College re-located in 2009 into an exciting £36 million new build development. Needless to say, the complex is one of the most modern educational facilities in the region and one which staff, students and the public at large are justifiably proud of.

Along with its specially designed state-of-the-art classrooms and work areas, the College also showcases a 500 seater sports arena and the area's only dedicated specialist theatre. Click here to see more details on our great facilities at the Peterlee Campus.

East Durham 6th Form (ED6)

The Peterlee Campus is also home to ED6, the College's sixth form, offering over 20 A Level subjects. For more details, check out the A-level courses section of the website.

East Durham College Houghall Campus

The College's Houghall Campus is located on the outskirts of Durham City centre. The Campus has an excellent reputation for a range of land based studies and is highly regarded amongst those within land based industries.

The campus recently underwent an exciting £12.75 million makeover, following the college receiving £10m capital investment funding from The North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) which it secured from the Government’s Local Growth Fund.

The site boasts an amazing range of facilities including a purpose-built small animal care centre and stunning new equine centre, all set amongst stunning grounds and countryside. This coupled with outstanding lecturers, who share a passion for the outdoors, means students with an interest in land based studies can be assured they have come to the right place.
