Christmas Offer On Horse Care Short Course

East Durham College’s equine department have launched a new deal on their popular ABRS short course, two courses now available for the price of one.

The Association of British riding schools level 1-3 course is set up ideally for new and potential horse owners looking to improve their skills and knowledge. The four week course is open to all ages and abilities, and will take in topics such as basic anatomy, health and safety, handling grooming, tacks and rugs and catching and turning out.

The course will start on Saturday 6th February at the college’s Houghall Campus in Durham, running for four Saturdays between 10am-2pm.

The cost of the course is £140pp with additional exam fees now at £25pp. At the moment though you can take up a special offer on the course, if you book and are fully paid by 8th January, places on the course will be buy one get one free.

Equine programme leader at East Durham College’s Houghall campus Anne Symons said: “This is a great course for new horse owners or for anyone with an interest in the industry and would like to improve their horse skills and knowledge.

“We have a great team here and some brilliant facilities to help get people of all ages and ability through the course, and with the opportunity of sitting an optional exam at the end of the course you can come away with an accredited qualification.”
