Foundation Students Have Fun Raising Money For Sports Relief
A group of over 50 students took part in The Houghall Mile to raise money for Sports Relief.
The event was held at East Durham College’s Houghall Campus and involved the Land Based Foundation students and staff.
The students competed in 7 teams to complete a treasure hunt around the grounds of the campus. They had to solve 10 picture clues to find the location of 10 letters to make up the winning phase. They also had to complete a number of fun activities and bush tucker trials to get the clues.
Dave Barrass, an Essential Skills Lecturer at the College, who organised the event, said: “We wanted to create a challenge that would really engage the students, a number of whom have learning difficulties.
"Everyone really entered into the spirit of it and had a great time, while raising money for this great charity.”
The event raised over £100 for Sport Relief.
