Land Based Short Courses

Whether it's specialist training to develop your professional skills and enhance your career prospectus, or just as a hobby, East Durham College's Houghall Campus is sure to have a short course to suit.

Our courses range from the practical hobby-based, with the likes of amateur gardening, floral design and horticulture masterclasses, to business-based training aimed specifically at keeping you up-to-date with the knowledge and qualifications your industry sector demands - such as chainsaw maintenance and the safe use of pesticides.

Please note that there will be a price increase for short courses from the 1st October 2017.

The Houghall Campus

Based in the spacious and tranquil setting of Houghall, only two miles from Durham city centre, we offer informal novice classes through to formal industry required qualifications. And, if you don't see what you're looking for in this leaflet, tell us - we'll do all we can to give you what you need.

The College recently underwent a stunning £12.75 million redevelopment so you can be sure Houghall is an excellent place to study.
