Lecturer’s Work to Go on Display alongside Elite Barbers
An East Durham College barbering lecturer has travelled to London to have her work photographed to go on display along with other top stars from the barbering world.
Alison Scattergood travelled to London’s Cre8 Studio to spend the day working on a model who was then photographed to feature in the 2015 Men’s Hairdressing Federation (MHFed) Raw Lookbook.
The shoot was organised by MHFed and their founder, and renowned barber, Adam Sloan, who personally asked Alison to be involved in the project.
The Lookbook usually features work from barbers who work in major salons, but after working with Alison, Adam wanted her to showcase the brilliant work that happens in education establishments.
The 2015 MHFed Raw Lookbook is set to go on sale in October and the proceeds will be donated to Prostate Cancer UK.
Alison hailed the day as one of the best experiences of her career and thanked Adam for the opportunity to showcase the brilliant work that goes on in barbering education.
Alison said: “The whole day was an absolutely brilliant experience. To be a part of such a huge event with these top barbers was an honour to be involved with.
“It was great to talk and swap ideas with some of the top barbers in the UK and to have my work praised by them was really one of the highlights of my career.
“It’s great to have my worked showcased in the 2015 Men’s Lookbook but to also know that it will hopefully help a great cause, makes this opportunity extra special.”
