Media Students Go Behind The Scenes At Radio Station
East Durham College media students have paid a special visit to BBC Tees radio station in Middlesbrough.
The Peterlee-based media students, who are currently completing modules in radio broadcasting as part of their course, got the opportunity to go behind the scenes and see what it is like to work at a real radio station.
They met with BBC presenters and producers and were taught how different packages and segments are put together to make up a whole show.
East Durham College media lecturer, Suzi Martin, thanked the staff at BBC Tees and hailed the day as a great experience for students.
Suzi said: “We had a fantastic day with the team at BBC Tees, they really opened the students eyes to the world of radio and showed them the great opportunities available within the industry.
“The students learnt some great techniques and really enjoyed the time they spent with the BBC team. They have come back with some great ideas for their own radio packages they are preparing as part of their course.
“I just want to say a huge thanks to the team at BBC Tees for letting us come down for the visit.”
