East Durham College's motor vehicle courses are delivered from a new purpose-built workshop at the College's Technical Academy.
The workshop includes motor vehicle engineering facilities of the highest standard. Students learn from a team of highly qualified staff whose skills, experience and expertise ensuring they receive the very best training available.
Areas of Study
Motor vehicle engineering is becoming an increasingly popular course area choice with students. The motor vehicle courses available teach students a range of practical skills related to the type of work undertaken in the motor vehicle industry. Areas of study include:
- Working safely and effectively
- Vehicle construction and routine maintenance
- Chassis technology
- Engine technology
- Transmission technology
You will take part in a range of light vehicle maintenance and repair tasks which will help give you the opportunity to go on to a motor vehicle apprenticeship or work in the industry.
Further career opportunities include positions within the armed forces and in research & development as trainee technicians and engineers - as well as access to Higher Education courses in motor vehicle design and development engineering.
