Renowned Barber Drops By To Give Masterclass
Barbering students at East Durham College have been picking up tips from a nationally renowned barber who dropped by to give a special masterclass last week.
Chris Moon, also known as The Geordie Barber, visited the College’s Peterlee Campus to give a masterclass to a group of level 2 and 3 barbering students.
Chris, who is one of only a small handful of people in the UK to hold the title of British Master Barber, talked the students through a number of cutting styles and techniques.
And as part owner in his family’s business, owning three barber shops in the North East, Chris gave students advice on running a business and customer service.
East Durham College barbering lecturer Alison Scattergood, who has recently been named as the first ever female British Master Barber herself, thanked Chris for giving up his time and sharing his knowledge with the next generation of barbers.
Alison said: “It was great to have Chris come along and show off his skills and techniques to the students.
“Chris has worked hard to follow in his father’s footsteps and get to where he is today, and it was great to hear him tell the students about his story.
“Not only is he one of the top UK talents in the barbering world, with a wealth of experience, he runs successful shops as well, which is a great inspiration for our students.”
