One of the growing departments within the College, Hospitality and Catering continues to attract students passionate about food onto its wide range of courses. The College itself offers a great place to learn, with opportunities to participate in gaining real work experience through the College’s own venues and events. In particular, the College’s own Gourmet Restaurant reflects the quality and high level of standards demanded of by our master-chefs in training. Recently, a luxury coffee shop style service has been introduced into the mornings to reflect today’s style of hospitality service and further broaden student experience. Student organised theme nights in the Gourmet Restaurant, including French Nights and Valentines Events, have continued to be a success both to the students involved and the diners lucky enough to have been able to reserve a table. Students have assessed external and internal work placement opportunities to broaden horizons and experience. There are also opportunities to work alongside commercial catering staff on many large events, such as the main college awards for 300 people and sporting events at the Houghall Campus. |
