The Childcare department offer an extensive range of courses from entry level to level 5 that correspond extremely well to the curriculum map for the children’s workforce sector.  All learners benefit from an extensive work experience programme related to their level of course. Success and achievement rates have remained consistently high within this department, with learners attainment successfully and consistently graded and assessed at the appropriate level.  For the second year running 100% of Level 2 Teaching Assistant learners achieved a Distinction for their externally assessed unit. In addition to primary learning goals other qualifications are timetabled to enhance the development of vocational skills such as Edexcel Healthy Eating and First Aid.  In response to learner consultation, the curriculum has been extended to include NCFE Creative Crafts ‘toy making’.
