The College’s Health and Social Care department continues to go from strength to strength, attracting a wide range of student’s to the vast provision on offer. As well as following an academic programme, students will also benefit from a range of enrichment activities, including visits to other providers; most recently, to the University of Carlisle for a two day event focussing on Careers in the Health and Social Care sector. It isn’t all work and no play however, our current Health and Social Care students are extremely active in raising money for different charities and can often be seen donning a silly costume or attempting a gruelling challenge in the name of fundraising. Learners are also actively involved in the workplace and the department successfully engage with over 300 employers to secure work placements for all students in the vocational area. The department has a designated placement officer who is highly effective in the monitoring of learners and their mentors. |
