The College excels in providing students interested in sport and outdoor education an environment in which they can thrive both academically and athletically. Seen as a centre of excellence for Sport and Further Education by Government Ministers and Senior Civil Servants, the College continues to receive attention from those who perhaps matter the most; passionate athletes and top quality coaching staff. With a wide range of courses covering sport, leisure, pre-uniformed services and outdoor education, and with provision from Level 1 through to Foundation Degrees, there is certain to be something to meet your needs and interests. Students have access to a wide range of additional vocational qualifications to enhance their programme. These include Community Sports Leader Award, Higher Sports Leader Award, FE Coaching and RFU Coaching. Many of our students on sports and outdoor education courses are also members of Team East Durham, the College’s dedicated athlete development programme. Students studying other course areas are also able to be members of Team East Durham.
