The National Citizen Service gives you the chance to take on new challenges, learn new skills and make a difference. It's about excitement and adventure, fun and friendship, and feeling like you can shape your own future.

You can add skills to your CV and UCAS personal statement and improve your chances of going to university, college or getting a job. And you can do it all while you make new friends and have fun.

If you are 16 or 17, no matter what your background or abilities, you can take part! And everyone on NCS gets their say in what they do and how they do it.

Phase 1: The beginning From taster days to meeting your teammates, there's plenty to be involved in as soon as you sign up!

Phase 2: The great outdoors You're sure to surprise yourself with what you can achieve with the support of your team on this adventurous action-packed five-day residential away from home, with team-building, problem-solving, challenging outdoor activities and most importantly, fun!

Phases 3: Back on home turf Learn new skills and gain valuable experience with your team while really getting to know the people and community organisations in the area you live in with this five day residential close to home

Phase 4: Get thinking Here you will really start to plan your social action project - throw ideas into the hat, brainstorm and contribute in ways that matter to you. Decide how you can make a difference as a team; from raising the profile of a local campaign to organising a sponsored expedition raising money for charity or planning an amazing project for your community.

Phase 5: Make a difference Time to roll up your sleeves... you have a total of 30 hours across a number of days to put your plans into action and have loads of fun while really making a difference to people's lives - you can do anything you put your mind to! Celebrate Your team will have a lot to celebrate, so here's your chance to dress up and get together with everyone involved for a huge graduation party! Celebrate your achievements with parents, carers, teachers and local dignitaries alongside the press and other invited guests and pick up your certificate signed by the Prime Minister.

Phase 6: The future The end of this programme is not the end of National Citizen Service for you; you'll be part of the NCS Graduate association , giving you access to unique opportunities to stay involved. You might fancy starting your own project.

It's your future to take control of! It all starts at YES!
