Apply today for the Young Horticulturalist of the Year competition 2018!
If you're passionate about the horticulture industry and/or are aiming for a career based on horticulture, the Young Horticulturalist of the Year competition is a great way to show off your talent.
The Young Horticulturalist of the Year contest is designed to recognised exceptional achievements by young people studying or working in the horticultural industry.
We will be hosting the first of three rounds in this contest at our Houghall campus, situated in the heart of Durham.
The heats take place in January and February and are based on multiple choice questions, covering a wide range of horticultural topics. The heats are held mostly at colleges across the UK where entrants will be presented a presentation of 40 multiple choice questions, with four alternative answers.
Each heat rewards 1st prize with £50, 2nd with £30 and 3rd £20. The heats are organised by our team of eight regional organisers who are CIH members.
Those who succeed at the heat level will be invited on to a second round and compete for a chance to take part in the grand final later in the year.
