Anti-Bullying Policy

East Durham College is committed to providing a safe, secure and positive environment in which everyone can develop and learn, making full use of the range of facilities available to them.

The purpose of this policy is to demonstrate the College’s determination to ensure that all students can enjoy a student life free from bullying of any kind physical or emotional via direct or distant (cyber bullying) interface.

East Durham College will promote anti bullying behaviour and an awareness of the seriousness with which bullying will be viewed through:

  • The Curriculum
  • The Tutorial system
  • Documentation on policy statements on Moodle, handbooks and other appropriate literature.
  • Staff Development

Within each of these areas lies an understanding that every individual has a responsibility to prevent bullying.
