A Group of German students said Guten Tag to Hartlepool when they visited a popular town attraction.
The 17-year-old students, from Stattliche Fachoberschule und Berufsoberschule in Altötting, in Bavaria, were in town as part of an exchange trip with East Durham College, in Peterlee.
The 18-strong group arrived in the region on Saturday, January 28, and gained work experience with local employers.
These include Seaward Electronics, The Peterlee Fire Company, Mecaplast Peterlee and Acre Rigg, Dene House and Our Lady of the Rosary primary schools in Peterlee.
But in addition to their hard work, the students were also treated to some leisure time and visited some of the region’s top attractions.
They visited Hartlepool and had a look around Hartlepool Maritime Experience and got to board HMS Trincomalee.
College photographer Steve Metcalf said: “It was a bitterly cold day, but they really enjoyed it.
“The school has been sending their students to us for 21 years and it’s always a pleasure.
“They are always very polite.”
The group has also visited Bamburgh, York, the Sage in Gateshead, the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Seahouses and the MetroCentre before flying back home on Sunday following the two-week trip.
