Brea Picks Up Media Award

East Durham College student Brea McAteer has been given a Student of the Month award for her work on her Media course for December.

Brea, 18 from Shotton is currently studying on the BTEC Level 3 Media course at the College received her award along with 12 others at a graduation style ceremony at East Durham College’s Scene 1 restaurant on Monday.

Lecturer in Media, Mark Johnson praised Brea for her professionalism and enthusiasm towards her studies at the College.

Mark said: “Brea has been excellent on the course this year. Her attendance and punctuality has been brilliant and she always shows a great level of professionalism in her work either when working alone or as part of the team.

“She has a fantastic approach and shows fantastic energy and enthusiasm in all the tasks she is set, with most of the work produced by Brea being of a Distinction standard.

And Mark also praised Brea for her commitment to her course which has also included Brea coming into do work at the College on her days off.

Mark added: “Brea always works fantastically well in sessions and her commitment to the course is second to none.

“It is best evidenced by her work done on a recent project for East Durham Trust. Brea and another student came in on their days off in order to help facilitate the delivery of a video conference.
