A group of staff members from East Durham College’s Houghall Campus have been doing their bit over the last month to raise awareness and money for charity by taking part in the annual Movember event.

The group, called Gregg’s Mobros, consisting of Prince’s Trust team leaders Gregg Corcoran and Mark Lambert along with Robert Holliday, Campbell Sinclair and Bob Houghton who have raised over £270 so far for the cause through donations on their page on the Movember website.

Gregg, who has been the organiser of the fundraising effort, is overwhelmed by the amount of money the group have raised and is just happy to be part of a great cause.

Gregg said: “Raising awareness of men’s health issues is something I believe is extremely important and something all men should play a part in.

“To raise over £270 is a fantastic achievement, thank you to everyone who supported us. It’s such a simple way to raise money yet the issues it is promoting and charities the money is aiding are really important.”

Movember is a moustache growing charity event, with its origins in Melbourne Australia, held during the month of November each year which raises funds and awareness for men’s health. Funds raised benefit The Prostate Cancer Charity, The Institute of Cancer Research and the Movember Foundation.
