NCFE (CACHE) Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (Part Time Evening)
You may be able to apply for the post of Teaching Assistant in a school setting.
Class work including demonstrations, discussions and practical work. Subject information is given via lectures, videos, visits, speakers, handouts and demonstrations. You will need to attend placement for a minimum of 1 day or 6 hours per week.
It is recommended that applicants have achieved GCSE at 3 grade in English and mathematics and have gained a good reference from school or from a person other than a family member. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate the potential to act independently and safely, therefore all candidates must be interviewed, and receive a satisfactory DBS (Disclosure Barring Service).
To complete the qualification learners must gain 30 credits in total. 24 credits from the mandatory units and a further 3 credits from optional units in group A and 3 credits from optional units B. A range of topics are explored such as; curriculum, health and safety, safeguarding and Play and learning.
All units are individually assessed and are graded pass or refer. All assessment criteria of the chosen units must be achieved in order to obtain a pass. Assessment methods include direct observation of practice, witness evidence, professional discussion and written assignments.

If you have been a UK resident for the past 3 years and are under the age of 19 on the 31st August, you will not usually need to pay any course fees.
If you are in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance in the Work Related Activity Group or other work related benefit and you are undertaking this qualification to find work, your fees may be paid by the Government.
