East Durham College is holding its key Year 11 open evening of 2013 at the Peterlee Campus on Thursday 17th October, between 4.30pm and 7.00pm.
The event is the ideal opportunity for the regions’ Year 11 pupils, and their parents/guardians, to come along and find out about the fantastic courses and training options available at the College after they leave school.
The event is also open to any other members of the public that are interested in finding out more about courses and training opportunities at the College.
Principal Suzanne Duncan said: “I would strongly urge parents to come along and help their children explore all of the options available to them, before they make any decisions about their next steps, after GCSEs.
“Our staff can help provide invaluable information, advice and guidance to put potential students on the right training path to lead to their career of choice.”
Visitors to the event can find out about a host of vocational courses, Apprenticeships, the college’s A Level offering at East Durham Sixth Form (ED6), the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy and the College’s specialist construction centre, The Technical Academy - plus of course all the land based and animal care courses run over at the Houghall Campus in Durham.
So come along and have a chat with our friendly staff and find out why we were ranked 10 out of 224 general further education in the country for overall success rates in 2011/12.
