Childcare student Stacey Benton had the opportunity to demonstrate the skills learnt in the classroom on a recent placement to Dene Children’s Centre.
Although her first placement since starting the College, Stacey’s maturity and enthusiasm quickly shone through.
Deborah Lowther, Stacey’s placement contact at Dene Children’s Centre, commented: “Stacey’s use of initiative was very good. She read stories and sang songs without prompt and fits into the room team well.
Stacey demonstrated an ability to keep the children’s attention and make learning fun, whilst also learning new sensory experience techniques herself.
It has been a welcome and pleasant experience having Stacey here on placement. She has shown initiative throughout her time here and has formed good relationships with both staff and children. With her training complete and a little more experience I am sure that Stacey will be a valued member of any staff team she chooses to work with. We wish her the very best of luck in whatever she endeavours in her future.”
