Compliments from Ramside Hall

Travel and Tourism students at East Durham College had yet another fantastic industry experience as part of their course on a recent visit to Ramside Hall Hotel.

The BTEC National Certificate students attend Ramside Hall Hotel where they were given a customer service talk by the Personnel and Training Manager as part of their unit on learning about good customer service. The students learned about the principles of the Ramside, including staff training, different types of customer the hotel attracts, the legal issues surrounding the hotel and the events and facilities on offer to guests. Afterwards, students enjoyed a tour of the hotel and gained a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the hotel industry.

The visit will help students complete an assignment, as well as gain a good understanding  on employment opportunities within the hotel industry and the qualifications they would need for the different roles.

Travel and Tourism lecturer Joy Shipley was thrilled with the visit and hopes that it will be the start of a good relationship with a well respected business within the travel and tourism industry.

As well as having a fantastic day, and learning many new things, students were also complimented by numerous Ramside Hall staff on just how smart and well behaved they were.
