East Durham College student Michael Huntington recently won the Construction Award at the College’s March Student Awards ceremony.
Michael, aged 16 from Horden, is studying on a Level 2 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology.
His Lecturer Michael Mangan said: "His attendance and punctuality are good, he shows real interest to course. Completion of written tasks are good and he always asks questions.
"Michael works well as an individual with no requirement for encouragement to achieve deadlines. He's keen to learn and shows a keen interest in the subject matter. He has clearly understood the importance of testing installations to ensure safety and is willing to pass this skill on to others."
"Michael is a well mannered student who is a pleasure to teach."
