Overview of the course: 

Lorna King, has taught for many years in further education, with families, and in one to one sessions. She enjoys helping people to create, develop confidence and skills using textiles, hand and machine stitch, rag rugs, knitting, papers, paint, folding, manipulating and much more. She now has the pleasure of teaching workshops for East Durham College where you will all be able to take home a personal piece of work that you have designed and made.
Her workshops aim to be creative and fun. Beginners, intermediate and confident abilities, all are welcome. A lot of her personal work is made with recycled materials and objects but you may use your own personal stash!

Entry requirements:

Learn how to use Merino Fleece, natural soap and warm water to create pieces of felt which can be further developed into landscapes, abstract textiles and 3D objects. Once dry these felt pieces can be further embellished with machine or hand stitch as well as buttons, beads etc.
Requirements for wet felting include:
a small towel, and an apron. If allergic to wool fibres you may need a pair of rubber gloves to protect your hands, we will be using natural olive oil soap and natural merino fleece.
