An electro-technical college student has been singled out for praise at a recent student awards ceremony.
Craig Moore, aged 21 from Horden, who is a student at East Durham College’s Technical Academy, won the award out of all the students based at that campus.
Lecturer Michael Mangan said: “Craig has been an excellent student in the first few months of the course and has become a very active member of the electrical team. His contribution in lessons and probing questioning helps enhance the atmosphere of learning and also helps to raise the performance of the whole class.
“His maths ability is phenomenal, a real benefit on this course, and his attention to detail in practical work is exceptional.”
Craig had previously studied Digital Games Design at Staffordshire University but then decided that he’d rather work in the hardware electrical technology area.
Craig said: “I really like to work with my hands as well as my head, and love building things, so this course is perfect for me.”
The Technical Academy is located in a 37,000 sq. ft. purpose-build facility on Peterlee’s South West Industrial Estate. The Academy offers a high quality training environment in a range of construction trades including plastering, tiling, gas, electric and fitted interiors.
