DL NCFE Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Care Planning
Care workers play a key role in ensuring their residents/patients are treated with a friendly and caring approach. Care workers have the ability to relate to people from a variety of backgrounds. After an investigation from the Care Quality Commission revealed that 424 out of 1,357 services in England are rated ‘inadequate’, the need for high quality trained care workers has never been greater.
• Aged 19+ (born before 01/09/1998)
• Lived in the EU for 3 years
Entry onto any course at East Durham College is subject to final approval from the Assistant Principal. Where relevant, the term ‘entry requirements’ also includes DBS checks, references, fitness to practice, etc.
• Unit 1 - Understanding Person-Centred Thinking and Planning
• Unit 2 - Care Planning for the Care Worker
• Unit 3 - Understanding Nutrition and Hydration in Health and Social Care Settings
• Unit 4 - Principles of Supporting an Individual to Maintain Personal Hygiene
• Unit 5 - Understanding Continence Care
• Unit 6 - Principles of Supporting Sleep
After the eligibility checks have been done, a Tutor is allocated to you and a further letter is sent along with your course workbooks / resource packs (please note that resource packs will not be sent out if wish to complete via eLearning, they are available online). After about 2-3 weeks the allocated Tutor will make contact with you to introduce themselves and ask how you are progressing.
You will have 24 weeks from enrolling to complete the course. You can complete the qualification online via our eLearning Assessor website or in paper-based format. Everything is done remotely via post or email, induction pack and tutor support.
This course is learner lead, meaning you start when you have had your induction.
