Overview of the course: 

A total of 103,900 safeguarding reports about vulnerable adults were referred in 2014/2015. The responsibilities of care workers involved in protecting the health, well-being and human rights of individuals are far-reaching. Allowing individuals to live free from harm, abuse and neglect can often mean involving health agencies, government departments or the police. Understanding the fundamentals of safeguarding is essential for anyone working in adult health and social care

Entry requirements: 

Eligibility Criteria
• Aged 19+ (born before 01/09/1998)
• Lived in the EU for 3 years

Topics: 

• Unit 1 - Understand Safeguarding in Adult Health and Social Care
• Unit 2 - Principles of Dignity in Adult Health and Social Care Practice
• Unit 3 - Understand Duty of Care in Adult Health and Social Care
• Unit 4 - Understand Dilemmas and Public Concerns in Adult Health and Social Care

How is the course assessed?: 

After the eligibility checks have been done, a Tutor is allocated to you and a further letter is sent along with your course workbooks / resource packs (please note that resource packs will not be sent out if wish to complete via eLearning, they are available online). After about 2-3 weeks the allocated Tutor will make contact with you to introduce themselves and ask how you are progressing.

Length of the course: 

You will have 24 weeks from enrolling to complete the course. You can complete the qualification online via our eLearning Assessor website or in paper-based format. Everything is done remotely via post or email, induction pack and tutor support.
