Duo Win Right Tools For The Job

Two construction students are celebrating after winning £100s of pounds worth of building kit at a recent event held at East Durham College’s new Technical Academy.
Jamie Measor, aged 17, from Peterlee, won a top of the range mixer courtesy of Weber. While Michael Wilson, aged 18, who is on a tiling course and also from Peterlee won an all-purpose RUBI tool kit.
The two lucky winners entered prize draws at the trade exhibition held earlier this week at the new 37,000 sq. ft. construction training academy.
Weber is a leading manufacturer of easy to apply products in the facades, construction mortars, flooring systems and tile fixing markets. RUBI designs, manufactures and distributes machinery and tools for construction and especially all the equipment required for the correct laying of tiles and other building materials.
Barbara Archer, Business Manager at The Technical Academy, said: “We were thrilled to have the likes of Weber and RUBI exhibiting at the trade event. We are working with some of the biggest names in the industry which is great for the aspirations of our students.”
East Durham College’s Technical Academy is located on the South West Industrial Estate in Peterlee, providing training in a range of construction trades including; Gas & Electrical Installation & Maintenance, Wall & Floor Tiling and Engineering.
