East Durham College In Search For New Horses

East Durham College’s Equine Studies department are searching for new horses to join their stables.

The Equine Studies department, based at East Durham College’s Houghall Campus boasts extensive grounds, labs, large stables, tack room, all-weather riding arena and a working farm.

The college is looking for horses either on livery, to loan or to buy.

The horses will be used within the Colleges numerous courses and must be willing to work in the arena and be ridden by beginners, novices and also more experienced riders.

The Equine Studies department are looking for horses that are from 5 years old with a height of 15.2-17hh, vice free, quiet and easy to handle in and out of the stable and a preferred, but not essential, jumping ability of 2’ 6”.

Anne Symons, Curriculum Leader in Equine Studies said: “We have fantastic facilities here at Houghall and are looking for additional horses for our students to work with.

“We have a high demand of applicants wanting to join the equine courses here at the college and this is why we would like new horses to join our stables here at Houghall.”
