Peterlee Police station has been brightened up by a giant mural created by a group of nine young people from the Eden Hill area working under the guidance of local artist John Craggs.

The 180ft sq. ft. work, commissioned by Durham Police, was installed today on the front of the Station.

The mural includes the pond at Peterlee Dene, East Durham College and Pasmore Pavilion.

Mr Craggs said: "They have got a great deal of achievement out of it and they should be very proud of what they have done.

“While putting it up today we had a number of people come up to say how much they liked it. It is quite bright and colourful.”

Dulux supplied the paint and the project was made possible with the involvement of the East Durham Groundwork Trust

Great work and well done to everyone involved from East Durham College.
