At East Durham College, we are committed to growing the skills of our learners by offering our GCSE programmes in Maths and English.

Our GCSE courses are open to all ages - whether you have just left school and didn't get the grades you want, or left school twenty years ago and want to gain the qualification you don't have, East Durham College's GCSE programmes are the perfect way to get these qualifications.

Taught by experienced, professional staff, our English and Maths GCSE programmes focus on developing your knowledge with the aim of helping you to achieve a pass grade in your exams at the end of the year.

Part-Time Student GCSE Programmes

At East Durham College, we understand that many people are already working, and may struggle to fit in courses during the day.

That's why, for part-time students, we offer GCSE English and Maths programmes which are taught on an evening at our Peterlee campus.

Our GCSE English and Maths programmes are offered completely free-of-charge to part-time learners.

GCSEs for Full Time Students at East Durham College

GCSE Maths and English are essential qualifications for your career development.

Students who are enrolled on full-time programmes at East Durham College, who have previously not achieved a pass grade at GCSE will be automatically enrolled onto English and/or Maths programmes at the college.

At EDC, we strongly believe that developing your English and maths abilities are essential for your own personal development, that's why these courses will be offered alongside your chosen course route as well.

GCSEs for Elective Home Education

East Durham College offer elective home education students, in Year 10-11, the option to GCSE English, Maths and/or Combined Science. For more details, please see the Elective Home Education page of the website.
