Overview of the course: 

Learn the art and skills behind completing fantastic skin fades at East Durham College's specialist salon!

This course is perfect for any practising barbers or training barbers wanting to sharpen up their skills and ensure they are at the forefront of the industry.

Entry requirements: 

You'll need to have completed previous short courses in barbering, or have experience in barbering to take part in this course.


This course is purely focused on developing your fading techniques under the tutelage of our experienced barbering lecturer.

How is the course assessed?: 

Your skills will be observed during the course to ensure you are progressing to a high standard.

Further study options after this course: 

After completing this course you could move on to further short courses in barbering, or consider doing a part-time L2 barbering course at East Durham College.

Length of the course: 

This course takes place for 3hrs over 4 weeks and runs on a Monday from 1-4PM.

The course includes demonstrations by our lecturer, as well as observation & assessment of your own work.

End date 18/01/2021


If you are over the age of 19, unemployed and in receipt of benefits, this course is free of charge.
If you are over the age of 19 and in employment, this course has a fee of £65.

Please note that while head blocks are not necessary for this course, you will need to provide a model weekly for you to practice your skills on.
