Learn how to perform basic back and side cuts with this entry-level, part-time barbering course at EDC!

Entry requirements: 

There are no prior entry requirements for this course.


This course covers the clipper and scissor work relevant to perform a basic short back and sides cut on a head block. After completion, you'll then move on to working on a male client.

How is the course assessed?: 

This course is assessed through observation of your skills.

Further study options after this course: 

Part-time Level 2 Barbering course, or further short courses in hair and barbering.

Length of the course: 

This course is part-time and will require you to attend college for 3 hours per week for four weeks.

During the course you can expect to see demonstrations of cuts being done, as well as take part in doing them yourself.

This course runs on Mondays from 9AM to 12PM.


This course is free to 19+ learners that are unemployed.
For learners aged 19+ that are employed, this course costs £65.
Charge for male head block- price TBC on application.
