Improvements to EDC’s Houghall Campus Improve Student Recreation and Accessibility

This week, we welcomed back students to college again after the Easter holidays. Students studying land-based courses at our Houghall campus returned to see new and exciting minor developments to enhance students’ experience.

Students were particularly pleased to see the creation of a new recreation space, with picnic tables and basketball equipment. This was paid for by students’ union fundraising, after requests were made for more space for students to socialise on campus.

This is part of a continued initiative from the Students’ Union to improve students’ experience on our campuses, led by Student Engagement and Wellbeing Co-ordinator Kirsty Paterson.

Alongside this, the college also made urgent developments to our Learning Resource Centre and Foundation Studies block. With new automatic doors added alongside building work beginning for a ramp, ensuring that our library and facilities are fully accessible to all.

These developments will be just the tip of the iceberg however, earlier this week, it was announced the college was to receive a multi-million-pound investment to allow us to complete phase 2 of our Houghall Redevelopment, ensuring all our learners have state-of-the-art facilities to go along with the incredible teaching they already receive.
