Jade Picks Up February Student Award

Jade Bell has received a Student of the Month award for her work on her essential skills course at East Durham College this month.

Jade is currently in the second year of her health and social care course at the College whilst also studying essential skills. She received the award along with six others at a graduation style ceremony at East Durham College’s Scene 1 restaurant on Monday.

Marnie Kirby, lecturer in essential skills put Jade forward for an award this month for her dedication and hard work on the course.

Marnie said: “Jade is a hard working and dedicated learner. She is always willing to try new tasks and strives to work through any issues she comes across.

“She has found aspects of the syllabus difficult but always works hard to overcome any problems. 

“Jade is a pleasant, polite and she is kind and considerate towards all members of the group and is always willing to help and support her peers. She is a pleasure to teach.”
