Land Based Foundation Award June 2012

East Durham College student Lindsey Kennedy recently won the Land Based Foundation Award at the College’s June Student Awards ceremony.
Lindsey, along with seven other students from different course areas at the College, was presented with her achievement certificate and prize by Interim Principal Eugene McCrossan.
Lindsey, 19, from Durham, has been studying on a NPTC Entry 2 Certificate in Skills for Working Life in the Land-based sector.
Lecturer Helen Mitchell said: “Lindsey has excellent attendance and punctuality. She is able to complete her written work and portfolio work to an outstanding level and always works hard in every lesson.
“Lindsey always listens to and follows instructions and is able to apply her theoretical knowledge to her practical work. Although Lindsey’s nature is to be very quiet, she is able to work as part of a team and contributes well.
“Lindsey always wants to learn about her subject area and retains her knowledge well. She has a lovely compassionate nature that is shown when she works with all animals of any size or shape!
“Lindsey has really made fantastic progression in her communication and team work skills and shown a commitment to her learning which is outstanding.”
