On completion of the course you will have the NPTC Award in Aerial cutting of trees with a chainsaw, using free-fall techniques. This qualification is essential for employment in the industry.

Overview of the course: 

A practical course - 3 days. Over the 3 days will will have gained the practical skills and knowledge to enable you to take a practical assessment. The assessment will be on the day following the completion of training.

Entry requirements: 

CS30(002/3), CS31 (004) and CS38 must be held prior to training starting.


Learn how to operate a chainsaw from a Rope and Harness. To operate the chainsaw safely whilst off the ground, using a rope and harness.

How is the course assessed?: 

External practical assessment by NPTC.

Further study options after this course: 

Additional practical CS units can be added to further industry skills.

This is a practical 3 day course.
