A free job club to help unemployed people from the East Durham area back into work has recently been launched.
East Durham College’s Business Academy has joined forces with Ready4Work (previously known as Families First) to provide additional services to the area’s unemployed with the opening of the new job club at the College’s Willerby Grove site in Peterlee.
The club will aid jobseekers with the job application process, CV building and offer information, advice and guidance. There is also access to free training courses to help people build up their employment skills.
Barbara Archer, Business Manager at the College, said: “The College staff will be available to assist with job searching and interview techniques.
“Representatives from Ready4Work will also be available to offer support and services to assist local people back into work and support with the transition into employment.”
Andrew Freiman, a Business Development Manager with Ready4Work, added: “Ready4Work is really pleased to be working in association with East Durham College to help provide additional support for jobseekers throughout the East Durham area.”
The job club is a free drop-in service which is open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 12.00pm and 1.00pm till 4.00pm.
