The Animal Care team at East Durham College’s Houghall Campus are delighted to announce that they are offering students the chance to enrol on the new Level 2 Veterinary Care Assistants/Nursing Course.
Ian Hall, a Course Leader in Animal Care, explained: “The new course starts in September and is aimed at students, both 16 to 18 and 19 plus, who wish to pursue a career within veterinary nursing.
“It is also ideal for those already employed within veterinary practice, who may want to improve and update their skills and to use the qualification as a stepping stone to
achieving the full Level 3 Veterinary Nursing Diploma.”
Jane Pringle, Head of Houghall, added: “We have seen a growing number of our Animal Care students wishing to pursue a career in veterinary nursing, so we have been working hard to be able to provide this new course specifically aimed at such students.”
Houghall has seen a record number of applicants for full time courses starting in September, already receiving 25% more than last year and up 21% in Animal Care courses.
“All tuition will be provided by lecturers who are fully qualified, enthusiastic and highly experienced Veterinary Nurses. Assessment will take place using the extensive resources available here at Houghall and within veterinary practices the College is working in partnership with,” Jane added.
