New Welding Short Course Launched

East Durham College has launched a new short course in welding for 16-18 year olds at its specialist facility in Peterlee.

The course, which will be taught at the College’s Technical Academy site, based on Peterlee’s south west industrial estate, will run for eight weeks taking place every Friday.

Taught by leading industry professionals from the college, once completed, students will receive an industry recognised welding qualification.

East Durham College, director of employer engagement, Anthony Mills, said: “This is a fantastic course for young people looking to get started on a career in welding.

“We have a fantastic welding facility here at our Technical Academy campus and a great set of teachers ready to give students the knowledge to get them up and running with a career in welding.”
