East Durham College has hailed Saturday’s Open Day & Spring Fayre as a massive success.
Hundreds of people visited the College during the event held at their Peterlee Campus. The College not only put on a fun day for local families but also had a good number of students enrol on courses for September.
Fred Harrison, Assistant Principal, said: “The event was a great shop window for the College and certainly got a lot of people through the door who had never set foot inside the College before. I’m sure the marketing for the event not only ensured we had a fantastic turn out on the day but also helped raise awareness of the College and the brand right across the region.”
A highlight of the event was the North East Legends Exhibition Football Match which included appearances from Steve Howey (Newcastle & England), Paul Baker (Hartlepool United), Brian Honour (Hartlepool United), Stuart Brightwell (Hartlepool), Steve Harper (Newcastle Utd), Michael Proctor (Sunderland & Hartlepool), Alan Thompson (Newcastle Utd), Dean Gordon (Middlesbrough) and Micky Barron (Hartlepool United).
The legends beat the College’s first team 4 : 3.
The College are now working hard preparing for the annual open day at their Houghall Campus, which will be held on Sunday 23rd May, 10am – 4pm.
