Passionate Student Samantha Takes Home Animal Care Award for December

Animal Care student Samantha Frost has picked up the Student of the Month award for her work in December.  

Samantha, 17 from Crook is currently studying on Level 2 Animal Care course at the College’s Houghall Campus. She received the award along with 12 others at a graduation style ceremony at East Durham College’s Scene 1 restaurant on Monday.

Sophie McKenna, lecturer in Animal Care nominated Samantha for an award this month for her high standard of work and her passion for Animal Care.

She said: “All of the work Samantha does is of an extremely high standard and is always well researched, showing her passion for Animal Care.

“Sam can always be relied on to complete practical work in the small animal unit and will encourage and support other students less confident than herself, to take part in the group exercises.  

“She never gives less than 100% and everything is done with a smile on her face.”
