Performing Arts Student of the Month - May 2011

East Durham College student Jack Robinson recently won the Performing Arts Award at the College’s May Student of the Month Awards ceremony.

Jacks tutor Helen Topping said: "Jack has really thrown himself in to his studies.  Jack has come from a non-performing arts background having done a sports course last year and is at present making massive improvements in this area.  He attends all sessions and pushes himself to the limit.  He has recently taken part in a dance workshop with an outside choreographer.  Jack has been recognised by this choreographer and been approached to join her travelling dance company.  Nothing is a problem for Jack, he was unwell recently and still managed to put himself through a full day of rehearsals and an evening performance."

"A pleasure to teach and a valuable member of the department.  Jack will progress on to his second year and I am sure many doors will start to open for Jack if he continues to work as he is at present."
