East Durham College is getting set to play host to a higher education fair this week.
The event will take place at East Durham College’s Peterlee campus on Wednesday 23rd November between 10am and 3.30pm.
It has been set up by East Durham College’s student services team and will bring together a number of higher education providers from across the country to meet with local students who are looking at their next steps after further education.
The event will see representatives from a great range of HE providers attend including; Bishop Burton College, Cumbria University, Durham University, Leeds University, Leeds Beckett University, Newcastle University, Northumbria University, Student Finance England, Sunderland University, Teesside University, UCFB (Sport courses) and York College.
East Durham College’s careers advisor, Gillian Hales, is looking forward to the event and believes this is a great opportunity for students to get an insight into degree courses and university life.
Gillian said: “This event is a great opportunity for students to come along and meet staff and student ambassadors from a number of universities from across the region and beyond.
“It will give students looking at their options, the chance to talk to people from inside the universities about course information and what life is like at their university.
“There will also be representatives from establishments such as student finance to answer questions about student bursaries and loans.”
