East Durham College’s Peterlee campus is set to play host to the Workplace Health Roadshow, on Thursday 29th September, between 10am-4pm.

The free event is organised by the Better Health at Work Award Team, and aims to provide firms and their employees with information about improving staff health, wellbeing and morale.

A whole host of interactive activities will be available during the day such as, complementary therapies, Olympic Games taster sessions, as well as healthy snacks and mocktail tasters sample.

There will also be advice, information and support from organisations involved in the health and wellbeing agenda, access to Free Health Checks and a chance to pick up free pedometers, water bottles and other freebies.

Lindsay Sheridan, the Better Health at Work Award Team’s programme manager, said: “Most of our waking hours are spent at work, which means the working environment can play a big part in our health and wellbeing.

“As well as encouraging employees to be more active whilst at work, we would urge company bosses to play their part too.

“September’s event will include lots of fun, engaging and interactive sessions with no limit on attendees, so as many members of staff can pop along and participate.”
