East Durham College are getting set to host their Open Day and Apprenticeship Event at the Peterlee Campus this Saturday.

The day has been set up to show prospective students what the College has to offer and is a must for any Year 11 school pupils who have still not decided what to do after GCSEs.

Alistair Cummins-MacLeod, spokesmen for the College, said: “Potential students and their families will be able to come along, have a look around and chat to teaching staff about a whole host of course areas that are available here at EDC.

“Our specialist sports coaches will also be available to talk about our renowned sports academies and elite scholarships which are available in football, rugby and from next September also in Boxing and women’s football.

“Lecturers in a host of construction trades will be onsite from the College’s Technical Academy too, so if you’re interested in a career in the likes of plastering, tiling or plumbing make sure you pop in.”

Information and staff will also be on hand to talk about Apprenticeships, A Levels at East Durham 6th Form, the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, the Houghall Campus and loads more.

The open day is on Saturday 27th April from 10am till 1pm at the College’s campus on Willerby Grove Peterlee.
