A winner has been chosen after students battled it out to become the College’s best mobile photographer.
Students at East Durham College have spent the last few weeks trying to take the perfect picture of the local environment using just mobile phones or tablet devices.
The competition was sponsored and judged by the Easington and Peterlee Rotary Club.
The overall winner was Annalise Long, 17, from Peterlee, who is studying on a Diploma in Creative Media Production. Her winning set of photos were taking in and around the Castle Eden area.
Annalise picked up the top cash prize of £125 ahead of 19 other entries from EDC students; with the winner being selected by East Durham College staff and members of Easington and Peterlee Rotary Club.
Annalise said: “It was a real surprise to be selected as the winner.
“There wasn’t a huge meaning behind my photos, I just went out around Castle Eden and the Dene area and took photos of things that grabbed my attention as I walked around. It’s a really beautiful area.”
Media studies lecturer at East Durham College, Mark Johnson has praised the competition as a huge success showcasing the fantastic talent at the College.
Mark said: “It has been great for the students to gain experience of this type of competition, with some exceptional photos being entered. It was a big well done to all involved.”
